German Shepherds in Northern California Shelters

Note: I no longer have the time to update this page with dogs available at the shelters listed below. However, most of the links to the shelters' Websites and phone numbers are still current.

The best way that I know of to search for a German Shepherd (or any other breed of dog) at a shelter is through the Website www.petharbor.com. You can sign up for a free 30-day e-mail "subscription" to Petharbor, whereby you will receive daily listings of your specified breed (if present) at the shelters you have specified. Petharbor.com is also an excellent way to monitor specific shelters for a dog you have lost.
